This day, new age…

With so many threats going around, there is no wonder some parents are being a bit overprotective with their kids. I for one am a ‘where you going, who you going with, why do you have to go, who all is going to be there, what adults can I contact, and just plain old NO because I said so,’ kind of parent.

Since the recent news outbreak, we will not be taking our 7 y/o trick or treating, trunk or treat, or anything else outside of our residence for Halloween. Does that keep us safe? Possibly. Will it be safer to stay inside than going outside? In my opinion, YES.

Frankly I don’t know if all this clown mess and rumors of purging is true or not. Me personally, I would rather be safe rather than sorry. Of course, the world is full of fools who think scaring the daylights out of folks is funny or even bigger fools who actually act on their impulses to do ignorant things. In order to deal with a problem, you have to make a mental checklist of things that need to be handled.

  1. STAY inside.
  2. KEEP family safe

In my opinion, by following rule number one for this Halloween season number two is already well on the way.

There will forever be the perfect Christian who states, “Well you shouldn’t be celebrating such a satanic holiday anyway.” I always looked at it as a time for kids to dress up as their favorite Marvel or Disney character and get candy. At least that is the way it was when I was young, CANDY was the main factor. When it comes to pranks and all the other foolery, I wasn’t down with that anyway but I am not knocking those that do. To each his or her own… Some folks take innocent acts and blow them clear out of the water. (IJS)

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” (I Peter 5:8)

My prayer for every one who reads this text is that you be mindful of your surroundings. Dear God, I pray that you protect each and everyone of us as we go on our way. As we venture out into the world and when we set up shop at home, Lord I pray the blood of Jesus covers us and our loved ones from head to toe. In Jesus name, I pray you send your angels to guard our families, protect us from our adversaries, and guide our thoughts in your direction. Lord I ask these things in your darling son, Jesus Christ name I pray. Amen.

Until next time…

You Can’t Win…

Recently my baby girl has been determined to watch all of my favorite movies and listen to the music that I love so much. Erykah Badu’s newest album has been on repeat for the past two weeks for us. ‘Monster in Law’ with Jenifer Lopez is one of the movies of choice but the all time favorite is ‘The Wiz.’

the-wiz

When I tell you that bad boy has been in constant rotation for the last few days, please believe me. Every song on there, I can repeat pretty much word for word and it’s been that way since I was little. Only now, I am starting to pay extra close attention to the words of certain songs. All this time, that movie and the songs had hidden messages for the viewer to grasp. Now I might be slow because I may be the only one who just figured it out. <shoulder shrug>

One song in particular is my favorite and that is the one sung by the scarecrow played by Michael Jackson. ‘You Can’t Win…’

maxresdefault

Although the song is fun and it has a catchy tune, the song and the scene itself speaks of some true life stuff. For instance, the crows were steadily telling the scarecrow he couldn’t get down off the pole. They also drilled into him that he was nothing but garbage guts.

Have you ever been knocked down to a point where it made you question your self-worth?

If so, how many times have you been forced to live with doubts?

A snippet of the lyrics is:

You can’t Win, you can’t break even and you can’t get out of the game…

Whose game is it? Who says I can’t be even? Who set the rules? And how are you gonna tell me I can’t get out? Good Luck…

The first couple of lines alone is a slap in the face. It basically says you can’t win the game that you are playing. You can’t break even, meaning you can’t play on even or neutral ground. And to sum it up, now that you have entered the game – you can’t get out.

Now I may be wrong and for the record I was not high. LOL… But the message is clear.

My resolve is if I can’t win, get even, and can’t get out their imaginary game, I will just alter the way I play. By the time I piss off the creators, I will be exiled anyway. 🙂 If I get ejected from the game, I can start a new game. One that gives me the gold by giving the honor, glory, and victory to my father in heaven who is the original game maker. Y’all better feel me…

No one can tell you what you can’t do or what you won’t do, only you can decide on what you will do.

You all have a blessed day and I hope to hear from you soon.

It’s been long time…

It has been a true minute since the last time I blogged. So much has happened. So much is going on in the world.

Although I haven’t blogged in a while, I have not fallen off the wagon just yet. Only my documenting has slacked off but I have a solution for that, I just need to find the candidate to help. Fingers crossed ladies, I know there are more people to lend a lesson or document some encouragement other than myself.

Just FYI, I am taking submissions and interest mail for those who want to be apart of the blogging team. Send all inquiries to pewomensministry@gmail.com.

On to the next one…

Daily inspiration post: Proverbs 31:27

She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

As women it is our duty to tend to the household and I don’t mean be house maids, old maids, or anything that depicts us as anything less than providers.

We are nurturers by design. The Lord designed man in his image and extracted a rib to create woman. A help-mate that will help to create, tend to, and uplift the home front. By design the family unit starts with the father and mother team. It is right and pleasing in God’s eyes that we guide our household and hold them on the right path.

We must teach our children the ways of the Lord as we learn to hold the same commandments that we teach. Train up a child…

As a unit it is an honor to stand beside my husband and lead this family in the light of God. It is a privilege to be gifted with my family that I must co-head. Never did scripture completely disregard a woman’s role or deem it as being insignificant when dealing with the house, the church, or the world.

Do some preachers, prophets, or men in general hint that we as women be seen and not heard? Of course but is that the way of the Lord? I could imagine not otherwise why does the word speak ill of laziness.

If it is a sin or frowned upon to be lazy individuals who wait on the next person to provide the basic needs, then how are we to remain barefoot and pregnant with no say so. MESSAGE… Y’all better feel me. The hustle is not genderized, please don’t let the ignorant lead you astray. (I know I made that up. :))

Stepping down off my soap box. It’s been real. I will try to get back with you guys soon.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time…

Proverbs 31 Project (day 19)

Day 19: There’s One and Only YOU!

“I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.” -Psalm 119:11

Happy Friday!

Quick recap…

Proverbs 31:10-16

An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels. 11The heart of her husband trusts in her, And he will have no lack of gain. 12She does him good and not evil All the days of her life. 13She looks for wool and flax And works with her hands in delight. 14She is like merchant ships; She brings her food from afar. 15She rises also while it is still night And gives food to her household And portions to her maidens. 16She considers a field and buys it; From her earnings she plants a vineyard.

The scripture breakdowns thus far have really made me mindful of my actions, reactions, and my overall way of thinking. I recognize my worth because I am evaluating my self-worth.

It’s one thing to believe that you are beautiful, it is another to shine from within a beautiful light that no man can diminish. Our ability to be trustworthy, hardworking, crafty, resourceful, and have a hustlers gait goes a long way. It guarantees the love, protection, and respect from those who value our existence.

God first, husband second, family third, and business last. Without God none of the other aspects would even exist. Without God, we wouldn’t exist.

God then blesses woman to be reunited with the rib she was structured from. The husband we were blessed with assists in producing the family. Together husband and wife raises the family as a sound team. The family will chunk the mother and father the deuces, who will be left? Husband and wife…

By putting the family third, it is not as negative as some make it out to be. When the kiddos are all grown up, the only beings left is that man and wife. Although I have my complaints about some ministers and their philosophies, this statement has stuck with me since our first pre-marriage counseling session.”Forsake all others…” For years, I thought for sure women must be out their rabbit *^* mind to cater to a man before her children.

Then I was enlightened on the bigger picture. The picture became clearer. It’s about team work, nothing at all about bowing down.

Lastly we have the hustler to increase household income. Whatever you are good at, make it profitable for you and yours. Pray over it and make it happen. Ask God to strengthen your resolve to get things done. Pray for guidance in making your dream a reality.

On to the next…

Pray for me and I will do the same.

Much Love,

Kanika

Proverbs 31 Project (Day 16)

Welcome to week three of the Proverbs 31 Project! We are moving right along people. There is nothing stopping us from reaching the ultimate fulfillment of understanding but simply doing nothing.

Day 16: Remember Yourself in God’s Image!

“But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, “Why have you made me like this?” -Romans 9:20

In keeping up with the previous weeks, we are challenged to write down (10) compliments to ourselves-about ourselves every day. Every morning when I read the lesson, scripture, and pray-I write down my ten. Have I repeated any compliments? Yes and No, I recently started jotting down words that can be used to describe me in a positive manner. Some words may mean the same in the dictionary but when applied to a person figuratively they take on a whole new meaning. Just my logic, hopefully it will help you ladies stay on the pathway to enlightenment.

The husband box, I took it in another direction as well. I have a husband file on my computer. Since I am always on that bad boy, why not use it for everything I need for real? Collages are another option when thinking about filling your husband box if you decide to do an electronic box such as I have. Fooling with social media, we are pretty good at creating picture collages with our selfies, we can do the same here.

Did you knock out the spirit of Procrastination last week?

Nothing can be done permanently by quitting cold turkey or at least I know it to be true when referring to me. I am a true participant in the take-back community. Work in progress here… 🙂

With that being said, I did accomplish quite a bit of work. I was determined to stop saying-I’ll get to it, as soon as I get done, I’ll try again tomorrow, it’s coming along, and so many other excuses I used to give me more time.

One thing I am lacking in doing is making out my lists again.

Confession time: I won’t lie and say sometimes I doubt these blogs are reaching the desired target but then I realized, I am the desired target. The lessons, challenges, reading, and scriptures are definitely beneficial. I can honestly say that I feel a sense of renewal in my spirit the more I work, study, and practice what I preach in a sense. (NO PREACHING HERE, but yall get where I’m going)

Testimony: The Lord is moving in our lives whether we want to acknowledge it or not. True the crime rate is through the roof. Police brutality is off the Richter scale. Violence against the innocent police officers are beyond heinous. The battle between ‘Black Lives Matter’, ‘Blue Lives Matter,’ and ‘All Lives Matter’ is dividing people who know a change is required in order for any of us to be safe.

The testimony is we are still here. We still have the opportunity to voice our opinions no matter who we are voting for, figuratively and metaphorically. My vote is for the Lord and getting your own understanding of the word. It’s time out to depend strictly on man to teach us, to inspire us, to motivate us, to rally us, to move us in one way or the other. These are the last days and I choose to lean on Jesus. My faith, my vote, and my sights are set on the one who died for me on Calvary.

On that note, let me leave you with this last thought…

Ephesians 4:1-6 (NKJV)

Walk in Unity

4 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, 2 with all lowliness and gentleness, with long-suffering, bearing with one another in love, 3 endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Pray for me and I will return the favor.

New lesson tomorrow.

Much Love,

Kanika

Proverbs 31 Project (day 14)

Day 14: There’s Always 10 More!

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.” -Ephesians 6:11

Lord this challenge is truly difficult but I am determined to make it.

Scripture breakdown:

The belt is symbolic to the truth. God’s truth is the weapon we need to defeat Satan’s lies that can sometimes sound like the truth. Satan is the master of confusion while God’s word is order.

The Breastplate is his righteousness. Because God sent his only begotten son to die for our sins, he covered our hearts with righteousness. Our hearts, the seat of our emotions are on constant attack by the enemy. The breastplate was put into place to ensure his approval our actions.

The footgear is the readiness to spread the Good News of the gospel of peace. The footgear that the Lord has blessed us with helps us to keep up the good work by spreading the Good News. The enemy is the master of self doubt. His main goal is to make us believe that every one is against us who isn’t already proven to believe. When we fall into the mindset that its pointless to keep preaching because you think that no one is listening, remember to strap up your soldier boots and keep spreading the word.

Our shield is our Faith. Every time the enemy throws the daggers of life at us we must throw up the shield to block those blows. Our faith must remain intact to be sure we hold steady that the Lords will-will be done and he is a faithful just God. He will not forsake us and the promises he has made.

The helmet is the salvation. As I said before, Satan wants us to doubt God and the promises he has made. He wants us to question every aspect of religion. The helmet is to protect our minds from the cruel doubt.

The sword is the spirit, the word of God. Armed with the word of God, that is the only offense we have against the constant hurdles thrown in the way.

God’s Armor for us… We are engaged in a spiritual battle-all believers find themselves subject to Satan’s attacks because they are no longer on Satan’s side. Thus, Paul tells us to use every piece of God’s armor to resist Satan’s attacks and to stand true to God in the midst of those attacks.

I am know I have my battles with self doubt and that is my cross to bear. The good news is, I’m trying. I am determined to shake all the baggage that constantly attempts to drag me down. I declare from this day forward that I will dress from head to toe ready for battle against Satan and his minions.

As the saying goes, ‘the devil is a liar.’

I am great, I am worthy, I am loved, I AM a child of God.

Be blessed.

Much Love,

Kanika

Proverbs 31 Project (day 5)

Day 5: Admit it. You’re Amazing!

“So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.” 2 Corinthians 4:16

Recap over the entire week:

We have been studying, meditating, and breaking down Proverbs 31:10-12.

10 An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels.
11 The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain.
12 She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.

In a nutshell, a virtuous woman is a woman who fears the Lord. After all a God fearing man needs a God fearing woman and vice versa. In order to rectify order within the household, there has to be a unified front. The children have to see an example in order to one day lead their own household.

A virtuous woman is not vain nor lacking in beauty, the beauty simply shines from the inside out. Her every thought is whether her actions are pleasing to God. Of course we all fall short of his divine glory but as long as we do our very best to correct our errors with a simple repentance, all will be right in his eyes.

As women we always feel the need to compare or ride the line of envy when surrounded by other women. It’s a natural instinct to want this or want that, mainly because we don’t have it. The moral of that story is, we never really know what all the next had to go through to get what we thought was nice. That is a lesson for another day.

All in all, be courageous enough to seek the answers to the questions about faith. Stand tall when you walk into a room and even taller when you are alone. Never be ashamed of the struggle or what some may view as failures. Remember everybody has a little stank on them, no one person is perfect besides Jesus. He died for our sins. His blood ran to wash us clean from the stain of the world.

With so much going on in the world, the least we can do is lift our spouses up in prayer. Pray for the blood to cover our family, friends, and their surroundings with the protection to see them through all the traps set before them. Pray for the sick, shut in, lost, homeless, hungry, weary, wounded, and bound. Pray for our children, those that have direct access to our children, and the world that we may leave behind.

Lord knows, some of the ones that have sworn to protect and serve are doing more harm than good. Regardless of those misguided individuals, there is no logical explanation for cold blooded murder. Ambushing innocent folks because they look like the guilty. After all, isn’t that the reasoning for the guilty to commit their crimes to begin with. Racial profiling is simply categorizing one group of people in one box whether they are living foul or not, right?

Stand your ground and license to carry are not one sided or at least it isn’t supposed to be. Somehow it still seems to only be legal for certain people. Sadly a clear understanding as to what is allowed and what is not has become fuzzier as the years go by.

My apologies if today’s lesson turned into more of a rant than teaching. We will reconvene on Monday, if it is the Lord’s will.

Stay prayed up! Please pray for me and I will do the same for you.

Much Love,

Kanika
